Storyboard

Multi-scene video generation guide

Storyboard

Overview

Storyboard allows you to create multi-scene videos from a single image with scene-by-scene control. Each scene has its own description and duration, allowing you to tell a complete story or showcase different aspects of your content in a single video.

When to Use Storyboard

  • Multi-Scene Videos: Create videos with multiple scenes from one image
  • Storytelling: Tell a complete story with scene-by-scene progression
  • Product Showcases: Showcase different features or angles of a product
  • Narrative Content: Create narrative videos with scene transitions
  • Complex Concepts: Break down complex concepts into multiple scenes

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1: Images (Required)

  1. Navigate to Vision Craft:

    • Click on "Vision Craft" card from the dashboard
    • Select the "Storyboard" tab (second tab with film icon)
  2. Upload an Image:

    • In the "Images" section, upload exactly one image
    • Use the Reference Images Uploader to upload your image
    • Required: At least one image is required
    • Maximum: Only 1 image is allowed per storyboard
    • Recommended: Use high-quality images for best results
  3. Preview: The uploaded image will appear in the preview canvas

Note: You can only upload one image for storyboard generation. This image will be used as the base for all scenes.

Step 2: Scenes (Required)

The Scenes section allows you to define multiple scenes, each with its own description and duration.

Adding Scenes

  1. Add First Scene:

    • Click the "+ Add Scene" button
    • A scene card will appear with:
      • Scene number (Scene 1, Scene 2, etc.)
      • Scene description text area
      • Duration input field (in seconds)
  2. Add More Scenes:

    • Click "+ Add Scene" to add additional scenes
    • Each scene appears as a separate card
    • Scenes are numbered sequentially (Scene 1, Scene 2, Scene 3, etc.)
  3. Minimum: At least one scene is required

Configuring Each Scene

For each scene card:

Scene Description:

  • Purpose: Describe what should happen in this specific scene
  • Placeholder: "Describe this scene..."
  • Tips:
    • Be specific about the action or focus of this scene
    • Describe camera movements, focus, or visual elements
    • Each scene should represent a distinct part of your story

Duration (seconds):

  • Purpose: Set how long this scene should last
  • Input Type: Number input (supports decimals, e.g., 2.5 seconds)
  • Minimum: Must be greater than 0
  • Precision: Supports half-second increments (0.5, 1.0, 1.5, etc.)
  • Total: Sum of all scene durations must match the selected video duration

Example Scene Configuration:

  • Scene 1 Description: "Wide shot of the product, camera slowly zooms in to reveal details"
  • Scene 1 Duration: 3 seconds
  • Scene 2 Description: "Close-up on key features, camera pans across the product"
  • Scene 2 Duration: 2.5 seconds
  • Scene 3 Description: "Product in use, dynamic camera movement showing functionality"
  • Scene 3 Duration: 2.5 seconds

Removing Scenes

  • Remove Button: Click "Remove" button on any scene card (except when only one scene remains)
  • Minimum: You cannot remove the last scene (at least one scene is required)

Scene Duration Validation

  • Total Duration Display: Shows total scene duration vs. selected video duration
  • Format: "Total: Xs / Ys" (where X is sum of scene durations, Y is selected video duration)
  • Validation: Total scene duration must match selected video duration (within 0.5 seconds tolerance)
  • Warning: If durations don't match, a warning appears: "⚠ Duration mismatch"
  • Requirement: Total scene duration must match the selected video duration

Example:

  • Selected video duration: 10 seconds
  • Scene 1: 3 seconds
  • Scene 2: 3.5 seconds
  • Scene 3: 3.5 seconds
  • Total: 10 seconds ✅ (matches)

Step 3: Video Settings

Duration

  • Options: Choose between 10 seconds or 15 seconds
  • Selection: Click on "10s" or "15s" button
  • Important: Total scene durations must match this selected duration
  • Cost: Fixed cost of 270 credits regardless of duration

Tips:

  • Choose duration based on your story needs
  • Ensure scene durations add up to the selected duration
  • 10 seconds works well for 2-3 scenes
  • 15 seconds allows for more scenes or longer individual scenes

Aspect Ratio

  • Auto-Detection: Aspect ratio is automatically detected from your uploaded image
  • Landscape: Detected for wider images (16:9)
  • Portrait: Detected for taller images (9:16)
  • Display: Shows which aspect ratio was auto-detected

Note: Aspect ratio cannot be manually changed - it's determined by your uploaded image.

Tips for Best Results

Scene Planning

  • Plan Your Story: Think about how you want to break down your video into scenes
  • Logical Progression: Arrange scenes in a logical order (beginning, middle, end)
  • Clear Transitions: Each scene should flow naturally into the next
  • Balanced Durations: Distribute duration evenly or emphasize important scenes

Scene Descriptions

  • Be Specific: Clearly describe what should happen in each scene
  • Camera Movements: Include camera movements ("zoom in", "pan left", "track forward")
  • Focus Points: Specify what should be in focus or emphasized
  • Visual Elements: Describe lighting, angles, or visual effects

Example Scene Descriptions:

  • Scene 1: "Wide establishing shot, camera slowly zooms in to reveal the product"
  • Scene 2: "Close-up on key features, camera pans smoothly across the product surface"
  • Scene 3: "Dynamic angle showing product in action, camera moves in a circular motion"

Duration Management

  • Match Totals: Always ensure scene durations add up to selected video duration
  • Use Decimals: You can use half-second increments (2.5s, 3.5s, etc.)
  • Balance: Distribute time based on scene importance
  • Validation: Watch the "Total: Xs / Ys" display to ensure they match

Image Selection

  • High Quality: Use clear, high-resolution images
  • Good Composition: Well-composed images work better across multiple scenes
  • Clear Subject: Images with clear focal points work best
  • Consider Scenes: Choose images that can support multiple scene variations

Troubleshooting

Duration Mismatch Error

  • Problem: "Total scene duration (Xs) must match selected duration (Ys)"
  • Solution: Adjust scene durations so they add up to the selected video duration
  • Check Display: Look at the "Total: Xs / Ys" display to verify
  • Use Decimals: You can use 0.5-second increments to fine-tune

Scene Validation Error

  • Problem: "Please add at least one scene with description and duration"
  • Solution: Ensure each scene has both a description (not empty) and duration > 0
  • Check Scenes: Review all scene cards to ensure they're properly filled

Image Upload Error

  • Problem: "Please upload at least one image" or "Maximum 1 image allowed"
  • Solution: Upload exactly one image (not zero, not multiple)
  • Remove Extra: If you have multiple images, remove extras to keep only one

Generation Failed

  • Check Credits: Ensure you have 270 credits available
  • Try Again: Sometimes temporary issues occur - try generating again
  • Refund: Credits are automatically refunded if generation fails
